NORMA
Meet Norma, a Bay Area native who has spent more than 20 years running the trails and roads throughout the region. While running began as a personal challenge and a way to push her limits, everything changed when she joined SFRRC in 2012. What was once a solo pursuit became a community filled with encouragement, friendship, and plenty of laughter.
For Norma, running isn't just about race day or chasing a PR—it's about the journey. She loves the early morning miles, the conversations that unfold during long runs, and the sense of connection that comes from sharing the experience with others. She believes the training process is where the real magic happens, building resilience, creating lasting friendships, and making memories that extend far beyond the finish line.
Today, Norma is passionate about helping others discover that running is about so much more than logging miles. Whether welcoming new runners, supporting friends through their goals, or simply sharing the road or trail, she loves being part of a community that lifts one another up and celebrates every step of the journey.
When she's not running, Norma enjoys spending time with her two sons, exploring the Bay Area, and encouraging others to discover the joy, confidence, and connection that running can bring.
